Chances of winning depend on the total number of entries received by Scotian Gold. A skill-testing question must be answered correctly. There is one grand prize of a family trip for 4 to the winter games in Halifax during the closing weekend February 25 – 27 including accommodations, tickets to events at the winter games in Halifax and spending money. Eligibility: Scotian Gold Cooperative Limited (Scotian Gold) Win a Family Trip to the winter games in Halifax Contest is open to all residents of Atlantic Canada who have reached the age of majority in their respective jurisdictions, except employees, officer, directors, representatives and agents of Scotian Gold, their affiates or advertising and promotional agencies. 3. Contest Period: The Contest starts at 12:00am Monday, October 25, 2010 and ends 11:59pm Friday, January 31, 2011 after which time no further entries will be accepted.
4. Contest Entry: To enter, visit the Scotian Gold contest website at www.aisforapple.ca during the Contest period and click on the Contest Entry page. Fill out the online ballot by including your name, street address, telephone number, email address and provide the correct answer to the skill testing mathematical question. You will be asked to confirm you have read the Contest Rules and agree to be bound by those Contest Rules. Then submit your online Entry.

All Entries become the exclusive property of Scotian Gold and will not be acknowledged or returned. Mailed Entries will be entered in the computer database to be eligible for the random computer generated Draw. By entering, each Entrant agrees to abide by the Contest Rules and to the decisions of Scotian Gold, which are final and binding in all respects. All entries become the property of the Scotian Gold and none will be returned. Scotian Gold and its affiliates shall have the right, at their option, to publish the winner’s name or use the winner’s name, home community, photograph and/or video image for marketing and/or promotional purposes, without compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law. No correspondence or communication will be entered into except with a selected entrant. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws, and all applicable local, provincial, federal taxes, duties or fees are the sole responsibility of each winner and will be paid by the winners.
5. Privacy Rules: Except as permitted herein as it relates to the winners, personal information collected from Entrants in the Contest will be used for the purpose of administering the Contest only. The personal information of all Contestants will be destroyed as soon as all of the prizes have been awarded unless the Contestant agrees on the entry form, that their e-mail contact information may be used by Scotian Gold to inform them directly of future apple events. Scotian Gold will not sell or distribute personal Contestant information.
6. Contest Entry Restrictions: Entrants are restricted to one (1) entry per UPC code per day. Entries indicating the same email or physical (street or post office box number) address will be considered, for purposes of the Contest, to belong to the same Entrant and therefore are subject to the above restriction. Any excess entries will be invalid for purposes of the Contest Draw.
7. Prizes: There is one grand prize to be awarded. Prize consists of 4 tickets to all winter games in Halifax events February 25 – 27, 2010, accommodations for 2 adults and 2 children for the evenings of February 25 – 27 and $1,000 spending money to cover travel and meals. The approximate total value of the grand prize is $2,300. The winner may choose to substitute $1,000 in grocery gift cards in place of the Family Trip to the winter games in Halifax. However, there will only be one grand prize awarded, the winner’s choice of a Family Trip to the 2010 winter games in Halifax or $1,000 in grocery gift cards. Scotian Gold, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to make prize substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of unavailability of any component of the Prize for any reason whatsoever.
8. Draw: All of the eligible entries received during the applicable Contest Period will be subject to a computerized random Draw to select the potential winners (one (1) random generated Draw in total). The Draw will take place at Scotian Gold offices located at 2900 Lovett Road, Coldbrook, NS B4R 1A6 on Friday February 4, 2011 at approximately 10am.
Immediately following the Draw, Scotian Gold will contact the potential winners by email, address or telephone number used to enter the Contest, which must still be valid. After being contacted by Scotian Gold, the potential winners will have 3 (three) business days to contact Scotian Gold by email (info@scotiangold.com) or telephone (1-902-679-6775).
The potential winners must have complied with all the requirements of the Contest Rules, including correctly answering the skill-testing question. After contact from the potential winner, Scotian Gold will make arrangements for awarding the prize. Should the potential winner not reply to Scotian Gold by email or telephone by the end of the Contact Deadline, or the potential winner does not otherwise comply with the contest requirements, that potential winner will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to his or her prize and will be disqualified and will have no recourse towards Scotian Gold, participating retailers or anyone involved in the Contest. Scotian Gold will have the right to select an alternative potential winner from among the remaining eligible entries and contact such persons in the manner provided above; the alternative potential winner will be given a new Contact Deadline date which will be 3 business days after contact has been made with the alternative potential winner.
Before being declared a winner, a selected entry must be verified by Scotian Gold. Winner(s) agree(s) to accept his/her prize as awarded, the prize is not transferable or convertible to cash or credit. Scotian Gold retains the right, in its absolute discretion, to make prize substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of the unavailability of any component of the prize for any reason. The decisions of Scotian Gold on all issues relating to the Contest will be final and binding on all entrants. The winner(s) will have until February 18, 2011 to claim their prize(s).
9. Chances of winning: The chance of winning depends on the total number of eligible entries received. Entries that are submitted from unauthorized sources, as determined by Scotian Gold, will be disqualified.
Scotian Gold and its affiliates assume no responsibility for late, lost, stolen, delayed, illegible, incomplete, or misdirected entry forms, or human error, or technical malfunctions, including but not limited to inability to access the website, lost, delayed or incorrect data transmissions, interruption or failure, other electronic malfunctions, computer or telephone hardware or software failures, malfunctions or garbled transmissions. Scotian Gold and its affiliates are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, or injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in the Contest or downloading any materials in relation to the Contest. Any attempt by an Entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest will result in disqualification. Any such action may be in violation of civil and criminal laws, and Scotian Gold reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Neither Scotian Gold nor their affiliates or advertising and promotional agencies or agents, officers, directors, employees and representatives, shall be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to an Entrant’s participation in this contest or the prizes awarded in this Contest, including liability for any injury, loss or damages of any kind to persons, including death, and property.
Prior to delivery of his/her prize, and in any event no later than February 18, 2011, the potential winner will be required to sign and return a Winner Declaration and Release Form, satisfactory to Scotian Gold confirming compliance with the Contest Rules and acceptance of the prize; permitting Scotian Gold and its affiliates to use the winner’s name, home community, photograph and/or video image in any publicity and advertising without compensation, where legal; and releasing Scotian Gold and affiliates and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, and agents, officers, directors, employees and representatives from any and all liability, damages, costs, expenses and claims arising out of or relating to the Entrant’s participation in this contest or to the prize. In the event that a potential winner fails to sign such a form, he or she will be deemed to have forfeited the prize, and an alternative potential winner will be selected.
10. Contest withdrawal: Scotian Gold and participating retailers reserve the right, in their absolute discretion, to modify or withdraw this Contest at any time, in whole or in part, without prior notification, for any reason. Scotian Gold reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event of a technical failure, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest.
